Winnipeg, MB – A drug trafficking investigation in Winnipeg’s North End has led to four arrests and the seizure of firearms, a grenade, and thousands of dollars in drugs and cash, according to police.
According to the Winnipeg Police Service, the North District Community Support Unit began investigating suspected drug trafficking activity earlier this month in the North Point Douglas neighbourhood. The investigation culminated in the execution of a search warrant just after 6:30 p.m. on December 19, 2025, at a residence in the 200 block of Austin Street North.
Police say officers from the North District Community Support Unit were assisted by the Tactical Support Team, the West District Community Support Unit, and North District General Patrol officers. Three men and one woman were located inside the residence and arrested without incident.
During the search, officers allegedly located four firearms, a large quantity of ammunition, a grenade, and various prohibited weapons. Investigators also seized approximately 205 grams of methamphetamine, about 7.3 grams of fentanyl, drug packaging materials, and digital scales. The estimated street value of the drugs is more than $11,000, police said.
Additional items seized included brass knuckles, crossbows, firearm parts, and approximately $12,000 in Canadian currency. Police also reported that one suspect was found with bear spray, a pick-lock screwdriver, and about $560 in cash.
A 54-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman have been charged with multiple offences, including possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of firearms, possession of prohibited or restricted weapons, possession of explosives, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. The man is also facing a charge of failing to comply with a condition of an undertaking.
Two additional men, aged 29 and 44, were arrested and later released without charge. Police confirmed both accused were released on undertakings.
Tests are ongoing to determine whether the grenade seized is live or inert.
