Winnebago County, WI Crash Today: 1 Dead, 1 Airlifted After 2-Vehicle Collision

Winnebago County, WI – A fatal two-vehicle crash in the Town of Black Wolf left one person dead and another seriously injured Sunday morning, according to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision occurred at approximately 10:38 a.m. at the intersection of County Trunk Highway Z and Country Club Road, just south of Oshkosh. Sheriff’s officials said one driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was airlifted to a hospital by ThedaStar Medical Helicopter with significant injuries. A third individual sustained minor injuries but did not require transport.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the roadway will remain closed until crash investigators complete their work. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team is leading the probe, with assistance from the City of Oshkosh Fire Department, the Van Dyne Fire Department, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, ThedaStar, and the Winnebago County Medical Examiner.

Authorities have not released the names of the individuals involved. The Sheriff’s Office noted that no further information will be provided at this time.

“Our thoughts are with all of those involved,” the department wrote in a public statement.
