Buffalo, N.Y. – Patchy fog will settle across western and north-central New York late Sunday, reducing visibility for early drivers and bringing seasonably cool temperatures in the 50s and low 60s.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, fog is likely to form after 8 p.m. and linger through at least 10 a.m. Monday, especially in low-lying and rural areas near I-90, I-81, and I-86. Cities like Buffalo, Rochester, and Jamestown could wake to misty conditions and overnight lows ranging from 57°F in Wellsville to 62°F in Dunkirk.

Dense fog is expected to be most prominent in areas including Springville, Olean, and parts of the Tug Hill Plateau, where early-morning visibility may drop below a quarter mile. Motorists are urged to use low beams, reduce speed, and leave extra time for Monday morning travel.

Temperatures will remain near seasonal norms, offering a mild start to the week once the fog lifts. No major precipitation is forecast, but damp conditions may persist into mid-morning across portions of the Finger Lakes and eastern Lake Ontario region.

Visibility should improve by late morning, though additional advisories could be issued if fog redevelops overnight Monday.
