Charleston, WV – The National Weather Service in Charleston reports that dry and seasonably cool conditions will continue across West Virginia today, with clouds gradually increasing through the afternoon.

Forecasters say highs will reach the upper 50s to low 60s in the lowlands, while mountain communities will remain cooler, with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Despite slightly warmer readings than Friday, the lack of full sunshine will make it feel about the same for most outdoor activities.

Tonight will remain mostly cloudy, with lows dropping into the mid-30s to low 40s in the valleys and low 30s in higher elevations. The NWS expects dry conditions to persist through the weekend before the next weather system approaches early next week.

Overall, the region will enjoy a calm stretch of late-October weather, ideal for outdoor plans and fall color viewing.
