Charleston, WV – Scattered precipitation will continue through the evening across West Virginia, but drier conditions are expected as the new workweek begins. After a cool Monday, temperatures will warm steadily through Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service Charleston, lingering showers and isolated storms will pass through the region tonight. In higher elevations, light snow may develop as precipitation tapers off. Overnight lows will range from the upper 20s to mid-30s in the mountains and mid-40s to low-50s in lower elevations.

Monday will bring mostly sunny and dry conditions in the lowlands, though some snow may linger in the mountains before ending in the afternoon. Highs will reach the mid-30s in the mountains and mid-50s elsewhere.

Tuesday will continue the warming trend, with sunny skies and highs ranging from the mid-50s in the mountains to the low 70s in the lowlands. By Wednesday, temperatures will climb further, with highs in the 70s. However, rain is expected to return Wednesday night as a cold front moves through.

Residents should prepare for fluctuating conditions, with a dry start to the week before rain chances increase midweek.
