Spokane, WA – The National Weather Service in Spokane is warning of the potential for light freezing rain across parts of central and eastern Washington early Thursday morning, particularly between 4:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
The highest confidence for light ice accumulation is expected from Davenport to Waterville along U.S. Highway 2, where up to 0.05 inches of ice could develop. Even small amounts of freezing rain can make surfaces extremely slick, especially on bridges, overpasses, and untreated roads.
Morning commuters should use caution, reduce speeds, and allow extra travel time. The light icing is expected to diminish by late morning as temperatures gradually rise above freezing.
