Washington County, WI – Two people were killed in an early-morning motorcycle crash Saturday in the Town of Polk, northwest of Milwaukee, prompting a roughly five-hour road closure while authorities investigated.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the county Communications Center received a 911 call at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday reporting a motorcycle crash near Highway 175 and Highway 164.
Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded alongside the Slinger Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol. Authorities said responders found two patients, a woman and a man, at the scene.
Lifestar Rescue and the Slinger Fire Department also responded. Lifesaving efforts were performed at the scene, but both victims died from their injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities identified the victims as a 29-year-old woman from the Town of Polk and a 51-year-old man from the Town of Jackson. Their names were not released in the initial announcement.
The crash affected travel near the Highway 175 and Highway 164 area as investigators worked at the scene. The roadway remained closed for approximately five hours, according to officials.
The Washington County Crash Reconstruction Unit and Washington County Medical Examiner’s Office investigated the scene. Authorities did not provide additional details about what may have caused the crash or the circumstances leading up to it.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal crash remains under investigation. Drivers traveling through the area Saturday should remain aware of any continuing law enforcement activity associated with the investigation.
