Jonesborough, TN – A Jonesborough woman was arrested Saturday after an alleged domestic assault led to a brief standoff and vehicle confrontation, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Ashley Anne Desjardins, 35, charging her with two counts of Aggravated Domestic Assault and one count of Reckless Endangerment following an incident on Oct. 25.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of D. Ward Road shortly before 1 p.m. While en route, officers were informed that the suspect was allegedly trying to leave the area in a blue Toyota Prius. Deputies blocked the driveway, took Desjardins into custody, and secured the scene.
Witnesses told deputies that Desjardins allegedly attempted to take another vehicle from the residence and tried to hit someone with the vehicle before attempting to leave in her own car.
Desjardins was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held on a $25,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 27.
