The incident occurred around 10:19 a.m. on October 27, 2025, at the county building located at 800 Park Avenue in Utica. Deputies said Paul Vannort II, 33, allegedly struck a hallway wall with a closed fist, leaving a visible hole.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, deputies assigned to the building immediately detained Vannort following the outburst. He was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building, where he was charged with Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor under state law.
After processing, deputies learned that Vannort was currently on state parole. The parole office was notified, and a violation of parole warrant was issued. Vannort was subsequently taken to the Oneida County Correctional Facility, where he remains held on the parole violation.
An appearance ticket was issued for a future court date in Utica City Court related to the criminal mischief charge.
