Fort Worth, TX – Torrential rainfall has triggered a series of flash flood warnings across central and north central Texas, with emergency officials reporting active flooding in several areas early Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, flash flood warnings have been extended until 10:30 a.m. CDT for southeastern Hill County, northwestern Limestone County, and southwestern Navarro County. Emergency management teams have reported between 2 to 6 inches of rain falling in these regions, with up to half an inch more expected. The flooding is already impacting small creeks, streets, highways, and underpasses.

A separate warning was issued for central Anderson County, where radar detected 1 to 2 inches of rainfall with ongoing flooding conditions. That warning also remains active through 10:30 a.m.

In northeastern Hill, Ellis, east central Johnson, and northern Navarro counties, radar showed heavy thunderstorms dropping between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain as of 7:05 a.m. CDT. These regions are under a flash flood warning until 10:15 a.m. as water levels rise across low-lying and urban areas, including communities such as Waxahachie, Corsicana, Midlothian, and Grand Prairie.

Residents in impacted counties—including those near Corsicana, Mexia, Palestine, and Waxahachie—are urged to avoid flooded roadways. Authorities stress the danger of attempting to drive through standing water, reminding drivers to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”

Additional rainfall may worsen conditions, and updates will be provided as the weather system progresses throughout the day.
