Stolen Vehicle Leads to Serious Crash in Pontiac, Alleged Thief Ejected From Vehicle

Streator, IL – Another vehicle theft occurred in the city late Tuesday morning, leading to a crash and serious injuries.

According to the Streator Police Department, the theft happened at approximately 11:53 a.m. The owner reportedly left the keys in the vehicle, which was quickly taken. The stolen vehicle was later spotted in Pontiac, Illinois. The thief lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a severe crash. The occupant was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries.

The individual was airlifted to a local hospital from the crash scene, with the vehicle considered a total loss. The condition of the occupant remains unknown at this time.

The Streator Police Department has reiterated the importance of not leaving keys in unattended vehicles.
