Seattle, WA – A lid defect on popular Stanley Travel Mugs has led to the recall of 2.6 million units due to burn risks. The affected mugs, sold nationwide since 2016, include the Switchback and Trigger Action travel models.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that the mug’s lids may loosen when exposed to heat and torque, potentially causing them to detach during use. Stanley has received 91 reports globally of lid failures, including 38 incidents resulting in burns, with two injuries reported in the U.S.

The recall applies to 12 oz., 16 oz., and 20 oz. tumblers in multiple colors. Consumers can identify recalled mugs by checking the product identification numbers on the bottom, such as 20-02957 and 20-01436.

Stanley urges consumers to stop using the mugs immediately and request a free replacement lid. Claims can be filed online at stanley1913.com or by calling 866-792-5445.

These tumblers were sold at major retailers including Amazon, Walmart, and Target, priced between $20 and $50.

Check your tumblers today to ensure they are not part of the recall. Prioritize safety and visit Stanley’s website for more details.
