South Bend, IN – Light lake effect rain showers are expected across northern Indiana and southern Michigan today, with cool, breezy conditions persisting through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana.

Forecasters say showers will be scattered and light, mainly affecting areas north of U.S. 30 and closer to the Michigan border. Highs today will range from 50°F to 54°F, with lows tonight dipping into the upper 20s to mid-30s as clouds begin to clear.

Sunday will bring pleasant fall weather with highs in the mid-50s under partly sunny skies. By Monday, another round of light showers is possible in southern Michigan and northern Indiana, though rainfall amounts are expected to remain minimal.

Temperatures through midweek will stay near to slightly below normal, holding steady in the 50s for most of the region.

The Weather Service says dry, seasonable weather will return by midweek, offering a brief calm stretch after this light rain pattern.
