Martin County, IN – A woman from Orange County was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly driving while impaired and possessing marijuana along U.S. 50 in Shoals, according to Indiana State Police.

Master Trooper Jarrod Lents stopped the vehicle for speeding around December 8. Police said the driver, identified as Ashley L. Moore, 40, of West Baden Springs, showed visible signs of impairment during the traffic stop.

According to the ISP Jasper Post, Lents conducted a roadside investigation that led to the discovery of suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. Moore was transported to Daviess Community Hospital in Washington for a chemical test before being taken to the Martin County Jail.

Police say Moore had a prior conviction for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) in 2024, which elevates this arrest to a Level 6 felony. She is also facing a Class B misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana.

Moore remains held on bond at the Martin County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
