Devils Lake, ND – A 76-year-old Devils Lake woman was seriously injured Wednesday night after her vehicle struck a farm tractor on ND Highway 20, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 7:49 p.m. on October 1, 2025, near mile marker 108—about four miles north of Devils Lake. Authorities said the woman was driving a 2021 Toyota Highlander southbound when it rear-ended a 2005 Case IH farm tractor also traveling south on the highway.

According to troopers, road conditions were good but it was dark at the time of the crash. The driver of the Highlander was taken by ambulance to CHI St. Alexius in Devils Lake with serious injuries. The 70-year-old male tractor driver from Bottineau was not injured.

Officials said improper lamps on an implement of husbandry led to a charge related to the farm equipment. Both vehicles came to rest on the roadway before being removed.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office and Lake Region Ambulance Service assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
