Prairie du Rocher, Illinois — Two Prairie du Rocher residents were charged following a residential burglary investigation that prompted a multi-county law enforcement response.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded around 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5 to a reported burglary at a residence in the 6000 block of WV Road in Prairie du Rocher, Illinois.

Investigators said numerous items were allegedly stolen from both the residence and a detached building on the property.

During the investigation, Monroe County deputies coordinated with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, which had been working a separate burglary case. Randolph County investigators reportedly identified a suspect vehicle believed to be connected to their case and possibly located in Monroe County.

Authorities said investigators later determined the same vehicle was allegedly involved in both the Randolph County burglary and the WV Road burglary in Prairie du Rocher.

On Thursday, March 6, deputies from both agencies executed a search warrant at a property in the 1300 block of Carr Road in Prairie du Rocher. During the search, investigators said they recovered multiple items believed to have been stolen in the burglary. The suspect vehicle connected to the investigation was also located and impounded.

Authorities also reported discovering illegal narcotics during the search.

Following a review of the investigation, Monroe County State’s Attorney Ryan Webb approved charges on Friday, March 7.

Britany B. Rodenberg, 32, of Prairie du Rocher, was charged with residential burglary, burglary, theft between $500 and $10,000, unlawful possession of methamphetamine (less than 5 grams), and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
