Portage, IN – A Portage man has been convicted of the February murder of his wife following a 10-hour jury deliberation. Richard Cooley, 64, was found guilty of killing Dana Cooley, 47, on February 13, 2023.
According to the Portage Police Department, Mr. Cooley was convicted of murder and pointing a firearm, a level 6 felony. He will be sentenced on July 12, 2024. The department commended the officers and investigators involved, including lead investigator Detective Kurt Biggs, for their diligent efforts. They hope the verdict provides some closure to Dana Cooley’s family and friends.
