Peoria, IL – Police arrested a 15-year-old boy Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting reported on East Arcadia Avenue.
Authorities responded to the 300 block of East Arcadia on Sunday evening after reports of a gunshot victim. Officers found an adult man with gunshot wounds inside a residence. The victim was rushed to a local hospital but later died. His identity has not been released by the Peoria County Coroner.
According to the Peoria Police Department, detectives identified the teenage suspect during their investigation. Officers arrested him Tuesday morning in the 1800 block of West Bradley without incident. A search of a nearby residence revealed a 9mm handgun and ammunition.
The suspect was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and faces charges of first-degree murder. Investigators are continuing to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
