Peoria, IL – Four juveniles were taken into custody Friday evening after Peoria Police officers reportedly found multiple firearms during an investigation on the city’s north side.
According to the Peoria Police Department, officers responded to a residence in the 5800 block of North Western Avenue around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025. Upon arrival, police observed four male juveniles inside a detached garage. Three handguns were allegedly discovered on the ground near three of the suspects.
Authorities said the group included three 16-year-olds and one 14-year-old. All four were transported to the Peoria Police Department for questioning. Following interviews, the teens were arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Possession of a Handgun Under 21.
The juveniles were later taken to the Juvenile Detention Center. Police have not released additional details on the firearms or whether any of the guns were reported stolen.
