Boise, Idaho – Temperatures across the Treasure Valley are expected to peak near 100°F today, prompting a heat advisory that remains in effect until 10 p.m. MDT Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, both Idaho and Oregon portions of the Treasure Valley—including Nampa, Caldwell, Ontario, and Nyssa—are under the advisory as daytime highs soar to triple digits. The alert warns of increased risk for heat-related illnesses, especially among vulnerable groups such as young children, older adults, and pets.

In Nampa and Caldwell, residents are urged to avoid direct sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day. Ontario and Nyssa will see similar conditions on the Oregon side of the valley, with the advisory lasting until 9 p.m. PDT. Hydration, access to air conditioning, and limiting outdoor activity are strongly recommended.

First responders and emergency rooms in the region typically see a spike in heat-related incidents during such events. Symptoms of heat exhaustion—such as dizziness, nausea, or confusion—should be treated immediately.

The heat advisory may be extended if conditions persist into Wednesday. Residents should monitor updates from the NWS and local emergency agencies.
