They claim that there is an arrest warrant out for the victim and demand payment to avoid getting into legal trouble. The Sheriff’s Office emphasizes that this is entirely fake.
Sheriff Pat Williamson stated, “Law enforcement doesn’t call people to demand money for warrants or fines. If you get one of these calls, hang up right away.”
