New York, NY – Skies over the New York City region will remain stubbornly gray Monday as cooler-than-average conditions return with isolated drizzle possible throughout the day.
According to the National Weather Service New York office, temperatures will top out in the upper 60s to low 70s across much of the area, well below the seasonal average high of 80°. Light east to northeast winds between 5 and 10 mph will continue to keep the air feeling damp and slightly chilly for mid-June.
From the Jersey Shore to southern Connecticut, residents can expect mostly cloudy skies with occasional patches of light rain or drizzle. Highs around Bridgeport and Stamford will stay near 70°, while Montauk may not reach 67°. Central Park is forecast to hit just 69°, and Newark will struggle to break 70° by mid-afternoon.
Drivers should anticipate damp roadways during morning and evening commutes, especially along coastal routes like I-95 and the Belt Parkway. While no flooding or severe weather is expected, light rain could reduce visibility during peak hours.
The unseasonably cool stretch continues into Tuesday morning, with another chance for drizzle before warmer, drier air returns midweek.
