New York, NY – Patchy fog will give way to hazy sunshine and steamy summer heat across New York City on Sunday, with highs reaching 88°F by mid-afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, low clouds and visibility issues will linger until around 9 a.m. Sunday, especially in low-lying areas and near bodies of water. Commuters on FDR Drive and the Cross Bronx Expressway should expect slower conditions and possible delays due to reduced visibility in the early morning hours.

By late morning, skies will begin to clear as southwest winds increase to 11 mph. The mercury will climb rapidly through the day, making hydration and sun protection essential for anyone spending time outdoors. Central Park and city beaches could see some of the hottest readings of the weekend.

Sunday night brings mostly clear skies and continued humidity, with a low around 75°F. Fog may return after 2 a.m., potentially impacting visibility again into Monday morning.

Monday brings more unsettled weather, with a 30% chance of afternoon showers and patchy fog before 8 a.m. Thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon, with a 50% chance of rain and highs holding in the low to mid-80s.
