New York, NY – New Yorkers can expect a warm, sunny Wednesday as temperatures climb into the 80s across much of the state, pushing 5 to 10 degrees above seasonal averages.

According to the National Weather Service in New York, a weak high-pressure system will move across the region June 11, keeping skies mostly sunny and boosting afternoon highs to around 83°F in NYC, White Plains, and eastern Long Island. Areas like Poughkeepsie and Islip may hit 85°F, while inland zones in New Jersey and the Hudson Valley remain in the low 80s.

Morning winds from the west-northwest at 5 to 10 mph will shift to a lighter southwest breeze in the afternoon. The dry, stable air is expected to limit cloud cover and keep conditions ideal for outdoor plans—though residents should stay hydrated and limit strenuous activity during peak heat hours.

In New York City, Wednesday’s expected high of 83°F compares to an average June 11 high of 78°F. While no records are likely to fall, the warmth marks one of the first sustained above-normal stretches this month.

Warmer-than-average conditions are expected to persist into Thursday, with no major rain chances in sight.
