Swanzey, NH – A man was arrested Thursday following a 15-hour standoff after allegedly pointing a firearm at a police officer.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, Ian MacNeil, 36, threatened a Swanzey police officer with a firearm while officers responded to a disturbance at his South Road residence on Wednesday night. MacNeil then refused to exit his home, leading to a prolonged standoff.
The standoff concluded Thursday afternoon when a State Police K9 apprehended MacNeil. He faces felony and misdemeanor charges. South Road was closed, and residents were evacuated as a safety precaution.
