Boston, MA – Massachusetts residents can expect a stretch of sunny, warmer-than-normal weather through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Daytime highs are forecast to peak in the 70s and 80s, making conditions more like late summer than early October.

According to the National Weather Service Boston office, overnight lows will range from the mid-40s to low 60s, with Friday night remaining mild and mostly clear. Saturday will bring highs between 72–82°F, with warmer readings expected in interior communities and slightly cooler conditions along the coast.

Sunday is forecast to be the warmest day of the stretch, with highs climbing to 73–85°F. The NWS notes that some of the highest temperatures will occur across the Connecticut River Valley and central Massachusetts, while Cape Cod and the North Shore will feel the cooling effect of ocean breezes.

The dry, stable pattern is expected to persist into early next week, offering an extended window of sunshine for outdoor activities. Residents planning weekend travel should prepare for strong sun exposure, unseasonably warm afternoons, and cooler nights in rural areas.

This stretch of warm weather is unusual for early October, when normal highs typically sit in the low 60s across Massachusetts.
