Nevada – An excessive heat warning remains in effect for the Las Vegas area through 8 p.m. Tuesday, as temperatures are expected to exceed 100°F. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity, with daytime highs hitting 104°F on Monday and Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, heat-related illnesses could increase significantly as the heatwave persists. Las Vegas and surrounding areas, including Boulder City and North Las Vegas, are seeing temperatures range from 102°F to 108°F. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recommends frequent breaks for those working outdoors and to stay in air-conditioned spaces when possible.

Roadways such as U.S. 95 and Boulder Highway are expected to see heavy heat-related traffic advisories. Residents are encouraged to check on vulnerable neighbors and drink plenty of fluids. Heat stroke is a serious risk, and symptoms should not be ignored – anyone affected is advised to seek immediate medical attention by calling 911. The excessive heat warning is expected to end by Tuesday evening.
