Hastings, Neb. – After a cool Friday night, residents across central Nebraska can expect a stretch of sunshine through the weekend before scattered thunderstorms return early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, Saturday will be clear and comfortable, with highs near 71 degrees and light winds. Sunday brings another dry and mild day, with temperatures rising into the mid-70s before winds pick up from the south.

The next chance for rain arrives Monday, when scattered showers and thunderstorms could develop during the day and into the night. While coverage looks limited, gusty winds and brief downpours may affect travel along Highway 6 and I-80. Overnight lows will stay mild in the 60s, keeping humidity higher into Tuesday morning.

Tuesday will turn warmer, with highs climbing into the low 80s under mostly sunny skies. Another weak system could bring a slight chance of storms by midweek, though most of the region should remain dry.
