Nashville, TN – A 70-year-old Fairview man was killed Thursday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision on Interstate 24 near the Briley Parkway exit, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Authorities identified the victim as John Love, who was driving a Dodge Caravan west on I-24 around 1:45 p.m. when the crash occurred. According to police, Love had been in the right-hand exit lane to Briley Parkway when he reportedly maneuvered back into the left-hand lane, striking a westbound Ram 3500 pickup truck.
The impact caused the Caravan to veer across the highway, where it was struck again on the driver’s side by a westbound Ford F-550 truck. Investigators said Love died at the scene. No other drivers sustained serious injuries.
Police said there were no signs of impairment, and efforts are ongoing to notify next of kin. The crash remains under investigation.
Drivers in the area experienced traffic delays for several hours Thursday afternoon as police and emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
