Great Falls, MT – The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for several parts of north-central Montana this evening, with the strongest gusts expected across the Southern High Plains and nearby regions.
According to the National Weather Service in Great Falls, winds of 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 85 mph are expected to persist through 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Southern High Plains, affecting communities including Choteau, Bynum, and Pendroy.
Nearby areas—including Cut Bank, Ethridge, and Santa Rita—are also under a High Wind Warning until 6 p.m., where gusts may reach 60 mph. Officials warn that the intense winds could damage property, cause power outages, and create dangerous travel conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles such as trucks and RVs.
