Jefferson County, MO – Drivers in Jefferson County should expect major overnight closures on U.S. Route 67 this weekend as MoDOT crews demolish the old northbound Interstate 55 bridge.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), US 67 will fully close in both directions under I-55 beginning Friday, October 3, at 7 p.m. Crews expect all lanes to be shut down by 9 p.m. for bridge demolition work.
Traffic will reopen by 6 a.m. Saturday, October 4, but closures will resume again at 9 p.m. Saturday night, lasting until 6 a.m. Sunday, October 5. The cycle repeats Sunday evening, with all lanes expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, October 6.
MoDOT urges drivers to plan alternate routes and expect detours near Veterans Boulevard and Route A during the work. Delays are likely for both northbound and southbound travel on US 67 while demolition continues.
