Lucas County, OH – A homicide investigation is underway in Springfield Township after a 19-year-old man was found shot inside a vehicle Friday night, according to the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded at 7:46 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, to reports of gunfire and a vehicle crash at 6984 Oakfield Drive, located at the Oakwood Garden Apartments. When they arrived, deputies found Tanaro Pounds (DOB 10/24/2004) suffering from a gunshot wound while still inside a vehicle. He was transported to UTMC, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Witnesses told investigators that a maroon-colored SUV was seen fleeing the area immediately after the shooting. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the parking lot, officials said.
Detectives utilized Flock license plate cameras to aid in identifying vehicles in the area around the time of the shooting.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect has been identified as Jordan Graves, 20. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Officials described him only by age and gender in the release.
Detectives are continuing to investigate what led to the shooting. Additional information, including potential motives or connections between the victim and suspect, has not yet been released.
