Louisville, Kentucky – Storms are expected to roll through Kentucky each afternoon through Monday, with strong cells bringing heavy downpours, lightning, and the potential for locally dense fog overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, the state will remain in a humid and unstable pattern with daily rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Sunday’s highs will climb into the low 90s across central Kentucky, with afternoon storms expected between 2 and 8 p.m. The pattern repeats Monday, though a few stronger storms may develop, bringing gusty winds and brief flooding to low-lying areas.

In Louisville, Lexington, and Elizabethtown, residents should expect muggy conditions, wet roads, and limited evening visibility due to fog. Lightning and ponding on streets may slow travel during the evening commute. Drivers are urged to reduce speed and use headlights when visibility drops.

Storms should begin to taper off late Monday, with drier and slightly cooler air arriving by midweek.

3-Day Kentucky Forecast

  • Saturday Night: Storms fading, fog forming, lows 68–73°F
  • Sunday: Afternoon thunderstorms, highs 87–91°F
  • Monday: Stormy again, isolated strong storms possible, highs 86–90°F
