Detroit, MI – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Detroit has issued Small Craft Advisories for all nearshore zones of Lake Huron on Wednesday and Thursday. This advisory highlights the hazardous conditions expected due to strong winds and high waves.

According to the NWS, the advisories are effective from 2 PM Wednesday to 10 AM Thursday for Saginaw Bay. For the area from Port Austin to Harbor Beach, the advisory is in effect from 2 PM Wednesday to 4 PM Thursday. The stretch from Harbor Beach to Port Huron will see advisories from 8 AM Wednesday to 4 PM Thursday.

The primary hazards include northeast winds ranging from 20 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots. Wave heights are expected to reach 3 feet, with maximum wave heights potentially hitting 4 feet. These conditions can be perilous for small craft operators, who are advised to exercise caution.
