Kankakee, IL – Kankakee School District 111 will receive $1.7 million in evidence-based funding this week, part of Illinois’ ongoing efforts to ensure that all students have access to the educational resources they need to succeed.

“This funding represents a critical investment in the future of our students and our community,” said State Senator Patrick Joyce, who announced the funding. The evidence-based funding formula, introduced in 2017, ensures that school districts receive state funds based on specific needs, such as enrollment numbers, poverty rates, and special education requirements.

The additional funds will help Kankakee schools maintain and improve their educational offerings, directly benefiting students. Community members are advised to stay informed by visiting the district’s website for more details on how these funds will be used.
