Bourbonnais, IL – WVLI is expanding beyond the FM dial with the launch of the WVLI Podcast Network, unveiled Monday, September 29, 2025. The initiative introduces a fresh way for residents across Kankakee County to hear familiar local voices and stories.

According to WVLI, the network debuts with two original shows. WVLI News Update with Rob West delivers weekday morning headlines covering community events, government, and breaking updates. Meanwhile, This One Time in Kankakee highlights real-life narratives from residents, blending humor and history. The first three episodes of the storytelling series premiere Monday, October 6, with new installments every other week.

Listeners will hear tales ranging from a 1930s farm accident to a mischievous night involving a borrowed cow statue. Jake LaMore, creative lead for the network and creator of the earlier Kankakee Podcast, said the project aims to strengthen community connection.

“WVLI Podcast Network gives the community more ways to hear the voices they already know and trust,” LaMore said in a release.

All programs are free to stream on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and at wvli927.com/podcasts.
