Kankakee County, IL – Burglary Attempt in Bradley Sparks Gunfire, Chase Into Kankakee

Bradley, IL – A reported burglary attempt in Bradley on Thursday afternoon escalated into gunfire and a police pursuit that stretched into neighboring Kankakee, according to Bradley Police.

The incident began around 3:12 p.m. in the 100 block of South Jefferson Avenue when a resident, away from home, saw suspicious activity on their security cameras and called authorities.

According to police, while officers were en route, gunshots were fired following a confrontation involving individuals connected to the resident. The rounds struck garages and a vehicle along the alleyway, though no injuries were reported.

Bradley officers pursued a suspect vehicle south into Kankakee. Once inside the city, Kankakee Police joined the pursuit, which was later terminated due to public safety concerns.

Police said the case appears to be an isolated incident, with no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation remains active.
