Indianapolis, Indiana – Rain and cooler air will dominate much of Indiana Monday, but a major warm-up is set to arrive midweek, bringing temperatures into the upper 80s across the state.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, isolated showers will linger through Monday evening as highs hover between 51°F and 57°F. This brief cool spell will be replaced by steadily rising temperatures starting Tuesday, with highs jumping to 74–80°F and reaching the mid-80s by Thursday.
Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Muncie can expect drier conditions and sun by midweek. Outdoor events and travel will become more favorable by Wednesday, but residents should plan for sun exposure and rising humidity. On Wednesday alone, highs could surge past 82°F in central Indiana, climbing to 86°F or higher by Thursday in Evansville and Terre Haute.
While no thunder is expected midweek, the next chance for storms returns late Friday into the weekend. Residents are encouraged to hydrate, limit strenuous activity outdoors, and check on vulnerable neighbors during the heat.
Warmer conditions will likely persist into early next week. Stay tuned for updates as storm chances develop later in the week.
