The Peoria Police Department said officers responded around 4:43 a.m. September 28, 2025, to reports of shots fired in the 600 block of Main Street. When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
While investigating, officers heard more gunfire from the downtown area. A short time later, a 29-year-old man arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Police said he is listed in stable condition.
