Chicago, IL – Residents across northern Illinois are in for a quiet stretch of weather this week, with unseasonably warm temperatures, plenty of sunshine, and no rain expected through Friday.

According to the National Weather Service Chicago, Monday will bring the warmest conditions of the week, with highs reaching between 85 and 91 degrees. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-50s to low 60s, offering mild evenings for outdoor activities.

Tuesday through Thursday will feature similar conditions, with highs ranging from the upper 70s to mid-80s. Slightly cooler temperatures are expected closer to Lake Michigan. Overnight lows will remain steady in the low-to-mid 50s, with little change from day to day.

By Friday, forecasters anticipate highs in the 80–89 degree range, again well above seasonal averages for early October. Sunshine will dominate the skies, and no measurable rainfall is predicted at least into the weekend.

Meteorologists say this stretch of mild, dry weather comes after a period of more unsettled conditions earlier this month, giving Illinois residents a break from both storms and cooler fall air.

The National Weather Service encourages residents to take advantage of the calm forecast, but also to remain mindful of fluctuating temperatures between warm afternoons and cooler overnight lows.
