Houston, Texas – A man has been charged with murder after a Feb. 20 shooting at a convenience store parking lot in northwest Houston left a 49-year-old man dead.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 12000 block of Bamnel North Houston Road on Thursday. The victim was identified as Glenn Godfrey Grey, 49.

While deputies were still at the scene, authorities learned an unidentified man had arrived at a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies responded to the hospital and located Albert F. Williams, who was being treated for gunshot injuries. Officials said Williams was in fair condition at the time.

Detectives spoke with Williams, who allegedly admitted to shooting Grey during a verbal confrontation, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a murder charge against Williams. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) took Williams into custody and booked him into the Harris County Jail.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the confrontation. The investigation remains ongoing.

The shooting occurred in a busy commercial corridor near residential neighborhoods and commuter routes, drawing attention from nearby workers and shoppers.
