Gary, IN – A 36-year-old woman was shot and killed at a residence on the 1900 block of Noble Street in Gary on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Jessica Lipscomb, was pronounced dead at Northlake Methodist Hospital.
According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred at 1976 Noble Street. Lipscomb sustained fatal gunshot wounds, and emergency personnel pronounced her dead at 5:20 p.m. A forensic autopsy confirmed the cause of death as homicide due to gunshot wounds.
Agencies involved in the investigation include the Gary Police Department, Gary Fire Department, and the Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force. The Lake County Sheriff’s CSI unit is assisting with gathering forensic evidence.
