Urbana, IL – A 32-year-old Urbana man was fatally shot early Saturday morning after an altercation at a party on the 1500 block of Hunter Street. The incident occurred around 1:32 AM in a common courtyard, where a dispute among a group escalated into gunfire.
According to Urbana Police, officers found two men with gunshot wounds. One victim had a minor graze wound and was treated and released. The second victim, identified as William Booker, was shot in the leg and torso. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died after surgery.
The Urbana Police Department is investigating and is seeking information from the public. Residents and businesses in the area with surveillance cameras are encouraged to contact the police.
