Hastings, NE – The National Weather Service in Hastings has expanded a Dense Fog Advisory to include more of south-central Nebraska early Saturday, warning of visibility dropping below a quarter mile in many locations.
The advisory remains in effect through 11 a.m. CDT, affecting multiple counties including Adams, Hall, Clay, Hamilton, and Kearney. The NWS says drivers should expect rapidly changing visibility and use low-beam headlights while keeping a safe following distance.
Officials urge motorists to slow down and allow for extra travel time, especially on Interstate 80, U.S. Highway 281, and regional rural routes. The fog is expected to gradually lift by late morning as temperatures rise.
No additional weather hazards are currently forecast for the day, but the NWS advises continued caution during the early commute hours.
