St. Charles, IL – A Geneva man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly reproducing and possessing child pornography involving a victim under the age of 13.

According to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, Karl P. Bibler was arrested on Wednesday, August 27, and charged with eight counts of reproducing child pornography (Class X felony) and eight counts of possessing child pornography (Class 2 felony).

State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser alleges the crimes took place between May 9 and August 27, 2025. Authorities say Bibler knowingly possessed and reproduced multiple digital files containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) during that time.

The Kane County Child Exploitation Unit, a joint initiative between the State’s Attorney’s Office and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, led the investigation. The task force was formed in 2022 to combat child exploitation across Illinois.

On Friday, August 29, Bibler appeared in court for a pretrial detention hearing. The court denied the State’s request to hold him without bond, instead allowing his release under specific conditions while the case proceeds. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 9 at the Kane County Judicial Center in Courtroom 319 at 9 a.m.

The charges remain allegations at this stage. Bibler is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
