Fort Worth, TX – A cold front moving through North and Central Texas late Wednesday will bring rain chances and a sharp drop in temperatures, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Showers are expected to develop behind the front tonight and continue into Thursday, with the highest rain chances (50–70%) from Waco to Palestine, and lighter totals near the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The weather service notes that Thursday morning lows are trending slightly warmer, reducing the chance of any freezing drizzle.

By Thursday, high temperatures will hold in the 40s across North Texas, while areas farther south near Waco and Killeen may reach the low 50s. Breezy conditions are expected, with milder and drier weather returning by the weekend.

The NWS advises travelers to be prepared for wet roads and cooler, gusty conditions early Thursday, especially during the morning commute.
