Tallahassee, FL – A round of beneficial rainfall is expected to move across southeast Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, and southwest Georgia from Monday night into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee.

Forecasters say most areas will see 1 to 2 inches of rain, with small pockets exceeding 2 inches possible where isolated thunderstorms develop. The rain will help ease ongoing dry conditions, though it is not expected to end the drought entirely.

The heaviest rainfall is forecast to fall late Monday night through early Tuesday morning, potentially impacting the morning commute in parts of Tallahassee, Dothan, and Bainbridge. The NWS notes that there is a medium chance of additional rainfall later in the week as another system approaches.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts for any updates or potential flood advisories if heavier rain bands persist.
