Medford, OR – Residents across southern Oregon and parts of northern California are under a Freeze Warning this weekend, with temperatures expected to dip below freezing each morning through Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service Medford office, the warning includes Modoc County, Lake County, and Klamath County—covering areas such as Klamath Falls and Chiloquin—as well as northeastern Siskiyou County, including Macdoel and Tulelake.

Forecasters warn that frost and freezing temperatures could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, while livestock and pets may also be at risk. Unprotected plumbing is another concern, with officials urging residents to take steps now to prevent damage.

The coldest morning is expected Monday, October 6, with widespread hard freeze conditions likely across the affected areas. Residents are advised to cover plants, shelter animals, and ensure pipes are insulated.

This alert comes as a cold air mass settles over the region, bringing an early taste of winter to communities east of the Cascades.
