Cleveland, OH – Rain and scattered thunderstorms are set to move into northern Ohio by the evening commute Thursday, bringing wet roads and reduced visibility across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a cold front approaching from the northwest will push showers into the area late Thursday, with activity continuing through Friday. A few thunderstorms are possible, especially Thursday evening into the overnight hours.

Cities including Cleveland, Akron, Toledo, and Youngstown can expect periods of rain that may impact travel, particularly during peak commute times. While severe weather is not the primary concern, brief heavier downpours could lead to slick highways, including stretches of I-90 and I-71.

Temperatures will remain mild Thursday, reaching into the upper 60s to low 70s, before cooling into the 60s Friday and dropping further into the 50s by Saturday. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s and 40s by the weekend.

Residents should plan for wet conditions through Friday and allow extra travel time. Conditions begin to dry out by Saturday, though cooler air will settle across the region. Additional updates may follow if storm coverage increases.
