Chicago, IL – Northern Illinois residents can expect a warm and dry stretch of weather to continue through the end of the week, with temperatures resembling late summer rather than fall.

According to the National Weather Service Chicago, most inland areas will see highs in the 80s, with some locations approaching 90 degrees by Friday and Saturday. Conditions will be slightly cooler near Lake Michigan, where lake breezes are expected to keep temperatures in the mid-70s to low 80s midweek.

The extended outlook shows little chance of precipitation, keeping skies mostly clear through Saturday. Overnight lows will range from the low 50s early in the week to the upper 60s heading into the weekend. The National Weather Service notes that the pattern will provide quiet weather, with no significant storms or rainfall expected.

On Tuesday, inland highs will range between 80–88 degrees, while Wednesday brings a dip into the 70s near the lake. By Friday and Saturday, inland areas could reach 91 degrees before cooling back slightly over the weekend.

The dry weather may benefit outdoor activities but could also lead to dry soil conditions for agriculture and landscaping. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated during the warm afternoons and to monitor forecasts for any sudden shifts heading into October.
